Mevlana Rumi – Lose Yourself and Gain Everything
Welcome Friends of Rumi!
Mevlana Rumi is the strongest unifying power in our divided world. Millions perceive each other as enemies instead of what we are, which is one. ‘Self’ is the biggest curse of mankind. Rumi said:
I come to you without me, come to me without you.
Self is the thorn in the sole of the soul.
Merge with others,
If you stay in self, you are a grain, you are a drop,
If you merge with others, you are an ocean, you are a mine.
~Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi~
Beautiful collector’s editions of Rumi’s works are available through the Society — special library packages available.
There is another Rubai Mevlana protest about the ‘self’:
O my God, don’t leave me in the hand of this unreliable self.
Don’t make me agree with anyone but You.
I run to You from deceits, troubles of ‘myself’,
I am Yours.
Don’t give myself back to me.
This site is dedicated to the works of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, God’s lover, and the great thirteenth century mystic, poet, and originator of the dance of the Sufi whirling dervishes. Mevlana is most relevant now during this time of upheaval. He is the most hope for humanity before nuclear winter.
Please examine this site to gain more knowledge about Rumi and his poetry, to learn about the exceptional translation work of Rumi expert Dr. Nevit O. Ergin, and to discover the Society for Understanding Mevlana.
